Rooted in Commerce
The name Merca is derived from the Latin mercari—to trade or do business. It reflects our focus on resolving disputes that impact markets, brands, and business value.
Built for Litigation
Merca Legal founder, Andres Munoz, brings over 20 years of litigation experience to the firm, including as a former criminal prosecutor and litigator at national law firms. We bring courtroom-tested skill to every matter—whether we’re negotiating a quiet resolution or preparing for trial.
Driven by Business Insight
We know what it’s like to run a business. During his career, Andres has advised and represented countless entrepreneurs and even launched and managed his own businesses. That entrepreneurial experience shapes how we approach every case: with pragmatism, speed, and purpose.
Andres Munoz helps businesses and entrepreneurs navigate commercial and employment disputes. His practice includes litigation and arbitration involving trademark infringement, partnership conflicts, breach of contract, trade secrets, financial fraud, and restrictive covenant issues such as non-competes and non-solicitation agreements. He also regularly represents clients in employment-related matters, including discrimination claims, EEOC proceedings, and internal investigations.
Before founding Merca Legal, Andres built his litigation skills at two national law firms and served as a prosecutor in New York City, where he tried numerous felony cases to verdict.
His litigation background is both deep and diverse—ranging from representing corporate executives in government investigations to guiding early-stage ventures through emerging legal risks.
